Kana Miyamoto

미야모토 카나(宮本香那, Kana Miyamoto)는 소녀들의 은밀한 감정과 비밀스러운 행동을 섬세하고 감각적인 색채로 그려내는 일본의 현대 작가입니다. 

그녀의 작품은 마치 멈춰 있는 영화의 한 장면처럼, 사랑스럽고 아름다우면서도 조용한 위태로움을 품고 있습니다.

한 아이가 검은 색 종이로 접은 종이접기(Falling)에서 시작된 그녀의 세계는, 여름날의 우울함, 짧고 깨지기 쉬운 관계, 몰래 저지르는 장난 같은 짓들을 중심으로 펼쳐집니다. 

Castle of Sand, Assignation, Priority, Whispers 등의 작품은 귀엽고 섬세한 소녀의 모습 속에 은밀한 욕망, 외로움, 그리고 규범에 대한 반항심을 숨기고 있습니다.

카나는 아름다운 색감과 부드러운 붓터치로 ‘순수함’을 그리는 동시에, 그 이면에 존재하는 모순과 감정의 균열을 담아냅니다. 

"귀엽지만 왠지 모르게 불편한" 그녀의 장면들은 관객에게 단순한 감상 이상의 경험을 제공하며, 오래도록 마음에 여운을 남깁니다.

그녀는 영화 Ghost World, Daisies, Don’t Deliver Us From Evil 같은 작품에서 영향을 받았고, 이처럼 감정적으로 복잡한 여성 캐릭터들을 화폭 위에 옮겨놓습니다. 

현실에서 충분히 벌어질 수 있을 것 같은 장면들을 통해 관객이 자신을 투영하고 공감할 수 있는 이야기를 만들어냅니다.

미야모토 카나의 작품은 단순히 '소녀'를 그리는 것이 아니라, 그 안에 담긴 내밀한 이야기, 상처와 호기심이 공존하는 찰나의 감정을 포착합니다.
